Champion v Forgestar
i'm pretty sure no one that uses forgestar's for their track events refers to them as "sad" lol. i think they're known as a pretty good wheel, fairly durable and "relatively" light and an incredible bang for the buck, and even track worthy. tons of guys run f'stars, which i'm sure you know. they are certainly not in the class of a champion hre or a fikse whatever.. but good enough, and they take a lot of abuse. this i know.
how do you feel about hre wheels? they have a flow formed line that looks almost identical to the forgestars but cost twice as much. does the hre brand also remind you of an electric turbo?
Lol i was thinking the samething.
People need to be happy with what they bought. Don't try to justify your $3,4,5,6000 set of wheels because people are just as happy with ones that cost $1200. Some of the lightest wheels are also the most fragile and wheel companies are a dime a dozen, popping up all over the place. Search cracked Fikse and see what you come up with (A LOT). I wouldn't spend that money on wheels that crack so much.
At the end of the day, do your homework, and buy some wheels. Take care of your wheels and they will take care of you.

And they still crack tons of issues with them on this board.
