Injector replacement - Motor Installed - ShopKey/Mitchell instructions...

DkFx and I are prepping to do the injector swap on his 996TT, so we've been gathering all the info/parts/tools needed to knock it out.

I acquired the 47 page document from the Mitchell database on how to make it happen, and figured we should share it with you guys. Enjoy...

Thanks! Getting ready to tackle this myself. Removing rear spoiler??? They must be talking about the engine deck lid? I didn't think that was necessary...

A lot of the steps in these shop manuals are unnecessary. If deck lid isn't in the way, I'd leave it on...

I've heard the install is a pain. Looking forward to hearing what you have to say about it.

There are a couple threads about it / DIY's on it:

https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...placement.html

I'm just considering dropping the motor, pinning all my coolant lines, doing the clutch, and replacing all the hard to reach vacuum lines/check valves. Just do it all at one time.

Me and my buddy (Well mostly my buddies hands in there) got the injectors swapped out in about 4 hours. It wasn't nearly as bad as I anticipated. If the engine is lowered completely, it makes it a ton easier. Removing the secondary air pump and turbo intake plenum are a MUST.

Edit: Second thought: Mine was quicker because I went with a mafless tune, with secondary air delete. I didn't even re-install the secondary air pump. My fuel filter was also re-located to underneath the car. That made the re-install of all electrical connectors and hoses easier.
