First Kill: BMW M5
of course it is "unsafe" not to follow the basic speed law which posits that one should never drive faster than "it is safe".. and no one here condones street racing per se.
but i think that adopting a "holier than thou" attitude, while displaying the modifications made to ordinary street cars in their "signature" lines is disingenuous at best, and at worst, completely hypocritical.
no one needs a modified vehicle to drive 35 mph on the street, and i dare say no one that has a modded street vehicle hasn't taken advantage of that extra power at one time or another, regardless of the posted speed limit.
no one in their right mind would argue as to the wisdom of it? it's flat out dumb lol ..but that said, i would bet dollars to doughnuts that everyone here has exceeded the speed limit at one time or another. so condone it? nah, but acting like you've never done it!? sure lol. ok,.. right.

There's a big difference between street racing and getting on it to feel your power upgrade. I think racing cars through traffic is unsafe. I feel if your getting on the freeway and you want to get on it to get up to speed your safe as long as your not endangering anyone else. If you have a porsche you get on it, if you don't then your to old and need to sell it and retire.
so i'm really not sure what other point ( if any ) you are trying to make
and i stand by my assertion that everyone here myself included has exceeded the speed limit at one time or another. whether it is/was "safe" is an entirely subjective judgement. it sounds as if on the one hand you condone "getting on it"? ( if it is safe ) and would advise those that don't, that they are "too old to own a porsche and should retire and sell it" if they don't, or some such? that just reads like a hedge lolso again, just follow the "basic speed law" as it is described in the ca dmv handbook, and we'll all be better off for your having done so. "power upgrade" or none. that should have no bearing on the topic, or one's decision to exceed the speed limit at all
i agree that "racing cars through traffic is unsafe". beyond that i am entirely unclear as to your ultimate point. given that most of us have cars that can exceed the speed limit within mere seconds, that criteria of an "onramp" or recent a power "upgrade" as justification is specious. having a recent power upgrade wouldn't give anyone a pass in my book. that's just an excuse.

DOT will mandate the black boxes and our current admin has already demanded black boxes to be installed in all cars moving ( ahem ) "forward" lol. get it? "forward"

enjoy the last of your illusion of "freedom" while you still can. tick tock
Yes someday the ticket will come in the mail maybe even automatically taken from an account and pretty much nothing you can do about it. I hope they don't require all cars to be retrofitted. Slowly the working man bleeds while the freeloaders watch tv smoke dope and make more baby's for us to support.
smoking dope doesn't worry me. if anything it might even aid one in helping to forget that the dystopic future our controllers have presaged for us, may not even include mailboxes where they can send the ticket. can you imagine? your car ratting you out? oh, the humanity
just kidding

just kidding
