You may think your being clever but im trying to figure out the solution to a problem here, do you think im making it up? If I accelerate hard and have to suddenly brake sometimes I have a rock hard pedal, its not rocket science.

In fact if your feet cant move fast enough to come off the throttle and brake while still on boost maybe you need to rethink your car or driving style.
This is a common problem that I have encountered myself at the track when you are hard on boost and do a rapid transition to hard braking. In many cases you will end up with a very hard pedal and little braking. This is caused by a lack of vacuum assist and manifests itself more at high altitudes or hot days where the air is even thinner (less vacuum). Basically the full throttle hard brake transition occurs too fast for vacuum to create brake assist. We ended up curing it by installing an engine driven vacuum pump as done on all the 997 and later TT/GT2/GT3 cars. The pump is off of a 997GT2. This completely cures the problem you are seeing. See my thread here on the conversion. https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...tallation.html

Its normally a sign of a faulty venturi valve but ive fitted a new one and even tried one from another car, keeps you on your toes when it happens, which isnt often as you say its an unusual scenario

That won't fix it. That's the first thing I swapped out when trying to find a solution. There is only one thing that you can do to cure this..

As common as they are, I think boost leaks are overrated as "problems". There's only so many places they can occur. Although that might well be the jaundiced view from one who seemingly has had them all lol

I've seen this happen on other cars of mine, I've actually had foot on the brake when boost has built and been shoved back in my seat as the pedal pushes back - it's no joke. Vac booster does, the opposite when pressurized. Sounds like the stock valve isn't acting fast enough for him and he's got transients often enough to notice it, Pwdr's solution is the best since it will divorce the brakes from any boost source.

OK, I gave this a shot today. Not quite max boost but .8 bar and the brakes were fine. I'm not sure what to make of that, but, there it is.

You can rest assured your venturi is fine dude My boost is 1.5 bar so was the other 996 that did it

It appears Pwdrhound has had the same issue and i guess this is why the 997 GT2 had a vacuum pump
