Which one would you choose?
So my hunt continues. I've encountered two 996tt that has caught my eye. Given my luck these two will probably be sold already:
1) 2003 996tt x50 6MT. Adult owned, 1 owner, 30k miles, Fabspeed exhaust and airbox, no other mods. Oil/spark plug change done recently. Car looks super clean and pampered. $46k asking with dealership offering 2 week money back guarantee if I'm not happy for any reason.
2) 2002 996tt 6MT. Adult owned, 2 owners, 10k miles. New tires, recently serviced. No mods of any sort. Service history shows nothing more than oil changes. $52k asking, dropped from $56k.
3) Keep looking for a 996tt that has 50k miles with an asking <$40k to save a few bucks and to allow "all things that have gone wrong to be replaced."
#2 has me worried a bit b/c it was barely driven, garage queen to the max. #1 looks like a good choice and the x50 is a big plus; the Fabspeed exhaust I'm not sure about as the lifetime Fabspeed warrantly doesn't transfer to the new owner and applies only to original purchaser.
Thoughts anyone?

#1 stands out to me. It has the K24 turbos so if you want to ever mod you can send them out and do a nice K24/18 or 20G billet upgrade. I would negotiate down the price if you can because #neverpayretail
What are the color combos of each?
What are the color combos of each?
1 is the car you seem to lean towards and sounds like a nice car at a great price. 2 is the car I would go for hands down if color/options are right. All good choices if they check out with ppi etc good luck.
#1 color combo was originally my top choice, but #2 combo has caught my attention recently and seems a bit rare.
What would you suggest for price #1? This would be my 3rd vehicle and it would be great if I could get it for a "good deal" especially since this would be a fun extraneous expense.
#2 appeals to me due to its color combo and ultra low mileage, but the low mileage is a little worrisome. Plus its a bit outside my planned budget.
They both have low mileage. One is just so low that it is a shame. lol
I would go in at $40K and see what happens. If you get it for $45 then at least you saved a grand.
Even at $46 its not a bad price but they always have some wiggle room.

Low balling once again suggested by current owners? You guys have no idea how to protect the mark. 46 asking is a great price 40k offer is insulting!

It's not low balling. Offering $35K would be low balling. I have never paid full asking on a car. Be it a Honda a Land Rover or a Ferrari. So far I havnt had much impact on market pricing of a certain make/model but I will keep trying.

This car will POSSIBLY need plugs, coils, maybe coolant flush, maybe yada yada yada

The main driving factor behind price is supply and demand. The 996 being the black sheep of Porsche had a low demand so when prices were high people did not buy. That low demand drove the prices down. They are now at a Price point where demand is starting to increase so the prices will start to stabilize. The occasional good deals people get by negotiating on price will have a negligible effect on market price.
Let me put it in terms you may understand= say your neighbor is selling their house for 300k at or below the average you living next door tell the perspective buyer hey offer them 250k. I'm not saying to over pay but when is the last time a 996tt owner said hey jump on it that's a great price or suggested a seller raise the price. Its the new mentality brought on by the price range based owners. Help Dock if your listening lol.

define the term 'adult owned" does this mean an adult with wealth bought a car raced it every weekend and had it serviced to a high quality level or does it mean an adult who wanted to be an adolescent again bought a car and never drove it unless it was to a strip club to impress the ladies?
ill take a track car that was maintained to the highest levels over a garage queen any day. having said that mine is ultra low mileage because i have a modding addiction and it stays on the lift more than the track
