Don't let what some say fool you the 996TT is a beast of a motor. My numbers and times showed that over 5 years ago
Thx, good to know

I am not so concerned if I twist some rods... I just drip feed the mods $$ so the boss lady stays on the QT... and so I get used to higher power

I chatted with Mitch about the logs and it didn't look like it was aggressive timing or leaned out. It was misfiring under heavy load and then bam.

As promised - Here is the log 5 minutes prior to the knock starting / I unfortunately don't have the run logged where the rod bent.

...Anyone got a hookup on forged internals?

i am far from expert tuner but i see boost 1.2-1.3bar and timing around 22deg from 3500-4500rpm with slight knock in the most critical point
my gt700 software at 1.4 bar 94oct pump never goes above 13 deg in that region
i hope you had good fuel buddy...
thx for sharing

22 deg timing in the boost at that RPM seems aggressive to me unless on badass race fuel/E85. Someone correct if I'm wrong.

Cool. Are you able to save your logs as excel files? I wanted to throw a pivot table on it.

I'd be curious to see the pivot tables you create - could you post them here?

The weird thing is as I drove the car back to its resting place it even though it had the knock, it still was producing ample power. When I got back home I pulled the codes from the ECU which only showed misfiring on two cylinders, nothing more.

Also, several people have said after hearing the sound, it doesn't sound like rod knock to them... Odd...

Here is another video of start up and small rev. You can feel the "knocking" through the clutch pedal when you depress it as well. -

look like rod so i would not run it anymore cuz you can damage the crankshaft(6000$) and more
missfire can be a lot of thing! plug gap, coil, injectors, low compression etc...
