Hey folks, anyone have any suggestions for mounting a 2.5 pound halon fire extinguisher in my car which has GT3 seats and a porsche roll bar.

The BK stuff only works for stock seats I think?

GT3 seats and Tech rollbar here and we went with a rollbar mount for the fire ext and mounted it between the seats on the crossbar, works good and its out of the way.

Sharky, I cant remember where I got the mount, it was a racing supply mail order, but I forgot the name.

Msindi, I dont have any pics of the setup at this time and I dont have the car at this house right now to take some or I would to show your guys.

Before you mount it on the rollbar, while still straped in, try reaching around to where it would be mounted and imagine trying to unclamp an extinguisher...
Now, imagine doing that while your *** is on fire!
I would stay with the "in front of the seat mount".
I am certain that BK makes bracket for this very purpose for the GT3 seats. I do not know the # of that bracket yet, but I have been in direct contact with them to make sure I get the right part # because I need to mount my Safecraft with the new GT3 seats.
When I get the answer, I will pass it along

Thanks VERY much for that info. Very, very wise it is too. I'll try find out from BKAuto on the mount for the GT3 seat then. If you find out anything before I do, let them know that there's another wacko that needs one

I am sure that one does NOT work with GT3 seats. That is the bracket that goes under the stock seat.
That is the bracket that Robert would need.

 

That's what I thought Doug Maybe it's just not listed on their web site but they do actually have one? I'll call tomorrow and find out. Darn East Coast-time slackers...

 

Keep looking buddy, I know there is one...at my track event I was at this past weekend, one of the GT2's had GT3 seats with the fire extinguisher in front of the seat...unfortunatly I don't know the guy personally to ask him where he got it....
