2.25" = 57 mm. I have 60 mm ID springs, that would explain the difference, if coil's thickness is the same. Front flare requirement is hard to measure while there's no fenders...rear needs 50 mm /side.

body kit

Body kit finally arrived this morning, they used a box form a Moto Guzzi bike to deliver

Will try to install them ASAP and make final calculations for ordering custom rims in terms of ETs, I guess we might be able to fit 300 wide tires in the front, not sure about the rolling diameter.

All parts are carbon or carbon+FRP mix, in the end we hope to get off from the total weight of the car up to 100Kg(220lbs) including A/C removal, Stereo, interior, one race seat only etc and get bellow 1400Kg if possible, car stands now at like 1500Kg full tank.

Considering to bump up power a bit at least in 4th gear and above 5500rpms or so in 3rd gear (can do boost by gear), maybe 1.6-1.7bar... That will give another 100hp for straights mainly.

Just bought for testing 275/335 R888 and having some 245/305 19" with Cup2s also for initial tests, later on will order some slicks, after we determine the biggest front tire able to fit, if a 650-660 tall tire will fit, will have plenty of possibilities

What kit is this. I'm still thinking about using the air rear and side skirts with 997 cup front flares on my car.

It's a German manufacturer, got a nice deal on these, I have no knowledge regarding the 997cup pars, but having OEM parts will be my first choice anytime

Love the mock up Fadi! With so much grip on hand especially with slicks, I would start looking for a Motorsport ABS. You will not be happy with the stock unit....

abs

Thanks John, already looking after a Motorsport ABS, but couldnt find even one till now... seems they are just a few and dont sell on forums, I dont have access to any real race team or so.

Wondering if there isnt any other aftermarket ABS (even adjustable maybe?!) that fits our setups...

Do you think on Rcompound tires like R888 or Hoosier R7 I might be ok on oem ABS ?

Have found a pic from last year after detailing and polishing - gt2 wing and 19" wheels

Fadi, I would post up something on the Rennlist Cup cars or racing forum saying that you are looking for a Cup ABS unit. They pop up there occasionally but generally sell the same day. Someone may have a lead for you. I bought another Cup ABS off Rennlist last year just to have a spare one on the shelf. You could also install a Bosch M4 ABS but it's not quite plug and play. It's also fairly pricey at $10K+ while the Cup ABS can be had for $5-7K. The nice thing about the Cup ABS is that it's a direct bolt on using OEM parts and you simply have to rewire the harness. It's a proven set up that is bullet proof.

My experience with the stock ABS is that it just did not like sticky tires combined with large slip angles. Under heavy braking on turn entry, the ABS would just give a hard pedal. The programming is just not set up for it. It was further aggravated by bumpy braking zones and a split in tire diameters. In my opinion, even with Rcompounds and a huge tire footprint you will be running, you will have issues and will be leaving a lot of braking capability on the table. The Cup ABS on the other hand uses different logic taking into account all of the above. It is immune to ice mode and is set up for a 1" split in tire diameters.

If you end up with the stock ABS and decide to run large diameter Cup rears, I have a solution to fool the ABS into thinking that you are running same diameter tires to keep the ABS happy in that respect. I am in the process of having front OEM tension bolts modified to have a replaceable ABS toothed ring bolted on with less or more teeth. This will allow you to run a 1.5" split yet the ABS will think that your diameters are the same.

Good advice, will try that even I find 5-7k to be a bit expensive.. all adds up quickly lol

I would be VERY interested into fooling the orm ABS, this way at least will have plenty of tire choices to try, for sure this is for general interest, you always find the best stuff for these cars, I can not add any more to your reputation

What if we run without ABS? Any downsides to that? I know most hillclimbers here run their cars without abs

The downsides are that you might be smoking some tires. With a non abs set up I would run some type of brake bias adjustment.
