In the process on getting new seats in my 996tt. Wanted to see what the options are and some pics. What seats do you have in your 996tt, what modifications were needed for them to fit, and please show some pics! Direct Bolton a plus!

I've had the OEM sport, OEM 996GT3 Euro, and now Recaro Profi Spa kevlar shell seats. The Spas are absolutely amazing seats as far as support and comfort once you are in them. They are also amazingly light at under 10lbs each, lighter than the OEM Euro seat or even the Carrera GT carbon seats. They are a direct bolt on using Brey Krause side mounts and OEM manual sliders. These seats make the CGT and GT3 Euro seats feel like sitting in a sofa and the OEM seats like sitting on a Yoga ball. Kidding aside, the Spas are not a daily driver but more of a race seat. The OEM Euro GT3 seats are still the best all around choice for a dual purpose seat, supremely comfortable, very supportive yet easy to get in and out of. I liked the CGT seats the least, they were wide in the hip area and relatively narrow and non supportive in the shoulders.

Gotta say...I don't care for the sport seats in my car (they look a lot better than they feel) and have been throwing around the idea of getting something different. I was also looking at some bolt-in options!! I don't track my car, just want something sporty in case I do track it and comfortable for drives. Awesome seats powder but all those very aggressive...makes my back hurt just looking at them. lol

Honestly, the OEM sport seats were the worst as far as comfort goes. Contrary to what you would think by looking at them, the most comfy were the OEM GT3 Euro seats. I could spend hours in the GT3 seats without any discomfort whatsoever. The bonus of the GT3 seats is that you will never loose a nickel on them if you take care of them. I bought mine for $3K almost 4 years ago and just sold them for $4.2K. The OEM seats are made by Recaro. Avoid all the Chinese knockoffs that the ebay market is flooded with. Lots of good brand name FIA certified choices out there that won't brake the bank.

The euro seats are in the middle? I saw a guy had listed his sport seats in FS section for $3000+. It would be nice to get into something better for what I could get for my sport seats. Not sure if that's even possible though.

I HATE stock 996 'Sport' seats, couldn't drive the car hard at all, and much less comfortable than the...Euro GT2/3 seats in mine now and is easily the best upgrade I've done.

Yes, in the middle. They are no longer made and the really mint ones are going up in value. If you can find a mint set for $3500-4000 I would not hesitate.
BTW, you should come out to the PCA event at HPR third weekend of October. Stretch the legs on the car a little...

courbeau lg1 in leather with inflatable lumbar and sub mount slot. 1400$ shipped. love that they are a steel frame seat and reclinable. uber comfortable and still have side support.
the only downside i can find is the mounts for the sliders are close. you need corbeau sliders and they are short so the front to back slide isn't much.

if i could have any seat i wanted it would be recaro cs sportster seats . simply stunning seats

Ah ok!

Thanks for the heads up on the event!! I SHOULD try to get her tuned before I go flog on it to hard, but Garth said I should be on pump with the tune he put on her! The dyno tune would be primarily for the e85 tune and higher boost. I'll try to make it out!

Those look pretty comfy! Whatever I get..the sale from the sport seats would need to cover most or all of it. Sorry, not trying to hijack OP's thread here...guess it's seat related though!

agree the oems are just horrible and never had sport seats which LOOK great w paint to match, but agree if one can't get the gt3 euro, then the recaro sportster series seems the best option and you can mix/match the inserts etc. i just cant find a clean used set before someone snags them, and wont pay 4k for a pair. horrible dilemma. the oem seats are an embarrassment to the car.

agree, those are pretty sweet esp for the $! can you elaborate on whats up w the sliders, is it you need theirs? and do you need different rails and do they only accommodate their harness belts?

these are nice seats

Always really liked the look of the sporsters, they seem like a good compromise between stock and full on buckets for people who dont track extensively but 4k is kind of hard to justify.

What about the Sparco Evo III's? Seem like a good value. FIA approved. I'm not sure if I would get a one piece bucket or standard style seat. I'll have to go sit in some around here.
