What is this part?

I finished buttoning everything back up on Friday. Today as I was cleaning the garage up I noticed this piece on the floor, looks like some sort of a plastic locking ring. I'm pretty sure I heard it falling from somewhere in the engine bay. Can anyone tell me what this is or if it even came from my car?

It is the retainer for the brake booster hose!!!! Left hand side just above the intake section a gray coupling. This part # can only be found in the 996 normally aspirated parts catalog. part#99923051240. It is in the TT parts cat but no reference.....
