i gotta figure this "issue" has been sorted by now. many have installed with no problems. which pisses me of even more lol GL with em

i still wish i had gotten them in properly. they just wouldn't "seat" right. ( add: these were the "red"ones btw..)

add: just realized that implicit in my story of not being able to install them suggests the "issue" was with the "design" of the plates themselves, and not the "installers", and i did not mean to infer that. the fact remains, however that tarret and some knowledgeable folks couldn't figure out why they wouldn't just install in place of the oems.

just to be fair/clear(er) lol.

Started the project tonight and had to stop on the reassembly side... I somehow managed to buy the standard 996 tophats from Tarett instead of the TT ones... sigh.

Email sent to Tarett about exchanging them, hoping they don't push back as these were only ever unwrapped to look at and have lived in their foam wrapper they shipped in.

Now I have to wait on parts before i can even finish one corner, but I guess I can disassemble the other in prep at least.

One question for everyone, did you simply put back in the OEM Bump stop or did it get trimmed at all? I can't find anyone mentioning what they did/didn't do for the bump stop.

Mine's actually lower than it was originally (before the camber plates B8's and H&R sport springs)

What size wheel, offset and tyre size are you running with the B8s and H&R springs? I'm going down this route and looking at 19x12 rear, ET51 with 19x8.5 fronts, ET53.

Anyone know if they'll fit ok and if I'll definitely need adjustable rear toe arms?

i would research as thoroughly as you can using 19's and lowering springs. sounds like asking for clearance/rub issues. IIRC? springs are best used with 18's. but surely someone has tried that combo. adjustable toe links are definitely de rigueur if lowered to reduce inner tread wear.

I'm running 19x8.5 ET52 fronts with 245/35-19 Pilot Super Sports, and 19x11 ET42 rears with 305/30-19 Pilot Super Sports. Also run a 5mm spacer in the rear to keep the inside rear from rubbing on the wheel liner that covers the turbo inlet. I had to roll my rear fenders to keep the rears from rubbing over large bumps.

It's a tight fit but totally doable.

The 19x12 ET51 wheels you are looking at won't work unless you use a 15ish MM spacer. Really no reason for a 12in wide wheel in the rear anyway as you can run 315s easily on an 11 inch wide wheel. My 305s are even stretched a bit on the 11inch.

Thanks for info. I want the 997 GT3 wheels with the rear dish though, I believe they're 19x12.

ah, will be a tight fit. Might be able to pull it off depending on tire and spacer setup.
