Garrett GTX3071R install

Hi guys,

I am in the process of fitting my GTX3071R turbos.
I have put together oil+water lines from what I had lying around and parts from local fitting/hose pusher.
This was quicker and less expensive than buying a complete line kit and shipping it to Scandinavia.

The only thing I still havent solved is check valves on the turbo oil inlet.
I could reuse the Porsche ones but would need 1/8NPT male to M12x1,5 female adapter for those to work.
Havent been able to find those.

So either look further, have them made or source some other oil check valves that fits better onto this new setup..

What have you other guys with aftermarket turbos done?
Excluding those who bought a complete linekit.

Heard back from Sam yesterday, unfortunately he doesnt have more of these.
Nor does SRM.
So we will have to look elsewhere.

^^^^ Awesome Freddy! Thanks for posting that.

I'm going to order these - 7768K61
They are Female in, Male out. Should work a little better with my setup.

the check valves are stock units. theres an aluminum housing that mounts in the turbo and allows the stock check valve to be installed into that

Yes, but noone seems to have more of these special aluminium houses that will allow us to move the little factory check valve to Garrett turbos.
Not ByDesign or SRM, also tried writing TiAL, but as always no response.

We should be able to use some aftermarket oil check valve, would be nice to know cracking pressure the factory valve though.. Anyone ever tested?
So how much oil pressure is needed for the Porsche valve to open..

^^^^It's not much...I'd say 1 psi crack pressure for the stock check valves just like the mcmastercarr units. I have seen some 4AN check valves as well with 1 psi crack pressure online as well that will fit 4AN feed lines. But the 1/8NPT fits right into the Garrett style center housing/or most oil feed blocks for them. These are primarily for stopping residual oil from dumping into the turbo after the car is shut down. The stock check valves also have a nice little screen filter built into the valve...which makes them a little bulky (but nice safety feature) compared to other check valves.

Thanks,
I think the oil feed port on these gt/gtx garretts is 7/16-24 though.
