Sachs perf the difference... ?
Sachs perf the difference... ?
Hi guys, I was looking for a good clutch kit for my car. For now, it's about 530 HP, but I often think about K16 Billet, one day...
However, my curent clutch has died and I looked some places on the web to find the good one. But what a mess !!!
There are so many references...
And some speaks without ref', naming the kit 2.5, or 3... But there are so many more than two or three kits...
Look at that!!! So many possibilities!
http://www.fvd.de/de/fr/Porsche-0/Ca...e_complet.html
Look:
on its website, only about rigids, Sachs racing deals with
881861 000029
881864 001098
881864 999944
https://webcat.zf.com/index.asp?country=F&SPR=6
As other example,FVD sells an other one:
http://www.fvd.de/de/fr/Porsche-0/Ca...A0_785_Nm.html
And I saw other references on other websites that I don't remember...
Finally, I found a kit on Ebay, at very good price, with the sport pressure plate and sachs perf disc. The reference of the disc is: 1849002358 or 1864000141
To see it, it's this one:

Maybe there are different products for differents places, and we don't have same products than you, in the USA. I don't know...
But I still got the hesitate to keep this disc or to sell it to buy an Sinter disc.
So, is there really a big difference between this two discs ?
What are the real differences in using and conduct ?
Why to choose one or other ?
Will not the sinter disc be too hard ?
I also wanted to buy a light flywheel, but is it really interesting on a 996 turbo ?
I read here that some guys are no happy with it...
But maybe it's better with a sport clutch or sinter... I don't know...

Sachs Motorsport 764 pressure plate / 997GT3RS 4.0 disc / 964RS LWFW. While at it, get rid of the TT clutch assist and install the GT2 parts. You'll end up with a perfect clutch set up..

I read somewhere that the 487 is good for 1000nm versus 890nm for the 764.

Thank you guys for your answers.
-Sachs motorsport 764: It's seems that it's what I already have in my kit
-964 RS flyghwheel: Do you mean the original Porsche part 964 102 239 31 ?
My choice was that part because I saw on FVD.de that it was lighter than all others I saw. I can buy it for about 320$ (356 USD today) in France, I just guess I have to buy the ring and the screws more. But it's seems to be a good deal. Did you test it ? What about those who say it's not a good mod' because of the vibrations etc... ?
-997 gt3 rs 4.0 disc: Ok, but OUCH!!! The price !!! It hurts !
It's twice the price of a Sachs!!! Does it really worth it ?
I'm afraid it's too expensive for me. What to choose between the 2 sachs if I can't buy a RS4.0 ?
And why ?
Why do you think the RS 4.0 is a better choice ?
GT2 mod is already on its way

No. It's barely audible when gearbox is fully hot otherwise it's quiet. The parts I listed above is basically what the factory installs on the 997GT3RS cars except they do not use the heavy duty 764 plate. Porsche does not install stuff that would be objectionable to the average buyer, unless they expect something that's Lexus quiet.

Don't skimp out. Do it right with the right parts even if you have to spend more. The 4.0 disc is the latest design and is very quiet. It's definitely worth it. Here is what you need to use:

Nice of you to put all the right parts up over and over again in your posts.
Hopefully people just go with what is proven in a similar application and save themselves future headache.
The other parts I replaced were the clutch fork/shaft, needle bearings, plastic cups and metal locking tab.
Last thing you want to do is have to pull it out again for some $90 item you skimped on.
