Latest round of mods complete. Gonna dyno next weekend. Predictions?
I said in my first post that it's all bench racing till I get some hard numbers.
All I have to base my theory on is racing my friends who have established 1/4 mile times.
Unfortunately, I know for a fact my clutch won't survive a trip down the dragstrip. I've been putting off buying a clutch because I wasn't sure what my plans were with this car. Since it looks like I'm probably finished modding for power, I can pick up an OEM style clutch Vs a Tilton if my plan was to go further.
My car was stock when i bought it. I took pictures of the turbos a while ago to show Sam because my car doesn't respond they way the current way of thinking dictates. I purchased mods with the mind frame that i was building a high hp car and wanted the right foundation. Seems this is uncharted territory because most just jump right into turbo upgrades and those that don't plan on turbo upgrades don't buy the mods i have.
Again, i agree, it's all bench racing til i get some proof. However, if there's anyone local that has established numbers and wants to do a freeway pull. I'm always ready and willing to have some fun!

Unless your clutch is already slipping, which it doesn't sound like based upon your willingness to highway race...
Why don't you try to "challenge previous thinking" about what the stock clutch can handle? :-)
Just messing with you really. I just want to see some numbers/results other than a dyno sheet that means nothing.
You can go to the track and do a super soft launch. You may just run a 13.0 at 125. But at least getting that MPH will give us some real world data to validate your claims.

It won't hold a 1-2 shift. It slips. That's how I know it won't survive.
Welp, finally got to test out the new mods. The clutch said "NO!" Guess whatever difference they made, it was enough that the stock clutch won't hold under 3rd gear roll ons anymore..
fyi a simple tune is enough to fry a stock clutch
didnt say that. only that a simple tune is all it takes to kill a stock clutch
Not saying your full of it at all just saying this is a group of guys who have been there, done that.
get that clutch upgraded and put down some power! GL.
I'm not doubting you at all, you have evidence that supports your car being very strong. I just want some confirmation
it could be your car is a freak, or could be you are out-driving the other guys. Anything can happen on the street. Photos of the turbos don't always tell the whole story, you have to take them off and thoroughly inspect/measure... Lot of things can be put inside of the stock housings as I understand it.

i know you think the whole board is doubting you, not saying your car isnt quick but your talking to a board full of guys who have been there done that on this car thats been out for 15 years. So yes, a stock 16 has been pushed every which way already, so has a k24 and subsequent upgrades (billet, 18g, etc).

No worries, I'm not upset at all. Everyone is being respectful and discussing. Which was the point in creating the thread in the first place.
However, I do disagree with you on one part. I don't think K16's have been explored in this fashion or extreme. At least, in all the research I've done. And to be honest, it wasnt my intent to ring them out either. It just so happens that the car runs incredibly fast with the mods I've done...which is pretty much everything and I'm happy with the results. As stated before, I was building a foundation rather than testing the limits of K16's.

Once I get the right clutch for the car, I'll take it to the track and get some real world results. Although at that point I fear people will want me to completely dissect my car.

Nah just kidding. I'm with you all the way, I've no plans to change turbos and I'm running a spicy Sambo special tune with my 100 octane.
Well my car just got tuned oem k16's and it made 520whp. I have Wagner intercoolers, fender well intakes, y pipe w/ external BOV, x pipe style exhaust no cats, maf less, and Cobb access port
