The 450 hp number on the X50 package was the German equation DIN, 444 is SAE, U.S. numbers, which they indicated on the S models. 1 SAE HP = 1.014 DIN HP, therefore 444HP SAE = 450 DIN HP. Porsche factory rates all their cars in DIN standard. I learned this a couple of weeks ago from another member.
