Getting a gameplan together for the 996TT. I had a 670HP 996TT previously, but Don’t need that much power. Targeting maybe 500WHP. What would you do?

And GO!

the obvious first 3 if you're not gonna do all at once.

if all at once? the above and billets or hybrids plus every bolt on imaginable plus headers. oh, and i like the ipd plenum. say what anyone will. i figure i'm at 475 rwhp.

I personally couldn't stand the truck like and loose stock shifter. My first mod was a 997 SSK. I think I went with exhaust second and then a tune.

It's funny, last week i brought my car to a well known Porsche shop in Huntington, L.I. I had a conversation with the owner whose was raving about my car with the low miles and all. I told him I was getting a plan together for some mods. He looked at me and in a serious voice said "keep it stock".

I replaced the plastic bushings in the shifter with metal - much better feel than stock. You still have to replace the shocks at some point - I went with PSS10 - better than stock. The stock muffler is crazy heavy and does not sound like a 911 - is it really considered "modified" if you fix that? The "normal" programming in the ECU gives you an acceleration curve - I like a straight line. A tune is an easy fix to get some more power and is easy to reverse if you ever want to. Every time something is worn and needs fixing, I like to replace it with something better than stock - you don't have to do it all at once.

Stock is ok. Update the failure parts and do the exhaust drill mod. Divertor valves & F-hose, clutch accumulator, AM shifter/bushings, pin coolant pipes, spoiler mod.

a tune up:

Plugs
Coils
Check for boost leaks

Then suspension:

Check bushings, etc make sure all are sound

Then:

Tune
Exhaust
Aftermarket suspension

The DVs, Accumulator and a few other maintenance issues (fuel filter and coil packs/plugs) were done in the last 2 years.
