EPL tune emissions question

Howdy HO guys! Well. The time has come. I must sell my beloved 996 Turbo. My all-time dream car and she is freakin' totally mint. I actually cried when I posted her today. Anyway, I have an EPL tune from about 2011 or 2012 and I love it! My car is registered as a collector car, so I have never had to do an emissions test. If I sell the car, I believe it will have to pass an emissions test, so first off. Is the OBD2 going to give me the "Not ready" code and deny me? If so, will I have to get Tony to unflash my tune? If I do put the tune back to stock for emissions testing, will I, or the new owner, have to pay again for the same tune? I do have 200 cell cats on each side and a great X-Muffler set-up that sounds absolutely perfect to me. Are there any work arounds to keep the tune and still pass Arizona emissions? I can't really find an answer from AZ DOMV and its just about impossible to talk to someone as staff is short due to COVID. All mailboxes are full ALL the time, so I can't talk to a human. I'm guessing my collector car insured baby will absolutely need to do an emissions test to sell, but can't find a definitive answer. State law on car sales, says emissions is required, but not really sure on collector car sells.

I'm going to miss her for the rest of my life. Best dang car in the world for price, performance, and reliability.

you shouldn't need to "de-tune" it to pass. the obd readiness will all be set if you havent cleared codes recently or have issues or CELS.

i'm also curious about the AZ "rules" and am going to look into the collector car exemptions you mention. that would be great.

sorry to hear of the sale. i empathize completely.

Wow! I'm surprised to hear that. Especially in Cali. Was it just OBD2 or stiff test too? I may need to call EPL to be sure. Already have people wanting to possibly buy her real soon. Thx

It should pass if you had him do an emissions compliant tune. Otherwise it is simple and free to flash back to your stock tune, your tuner should have the stock tune.

I have an EPL tune and I believe its setup to submit false readyness OK signals for testing. I have a catless exhaust and my smog tests show all sensors ready.

for this year car, they dont do a sniffer test anymore. Just a visual check and obd2 scan.

i was able to get all the monitors to flip on in about 30 minutes of driving. I believe in my tune I have the secondary air turned off, fwiw. And I used my 95+ octane map.

I sent EPL an email with my tune Auth number about the readiness code, but I haven't heard back from them. I hope they respond to my email. Not sure how else I could tell besides just getting it checked, but I don't want a "Failed emissions" on my CarFax for no good reason. It was tuned in 2011.

i just remedied a minor issue and cleared the soft code and now have all my monitors set to "ready" but my reg isn't nearly due.

i literally want to put the car up on blocks until i can re-reg for 21. for fear of a minor cel and then clearing and the monitors need to be "reset". then my "cat not ready" for a few hundred miles lol.

i'm hoping az is a bit less hassle than my bi-annual hell in ca. but i bet not.

that would be worth its weight in gold. i know that monitors can be hard reset with the porsche tool. but i'd love to run catless again.

ahh, the smell of unburnt fossil fuel in the mornings. smells like FREEDOM.

Its right on the website dude, 2 seconds of searching and you'll find it

EPL has no interest in supporting our platform anymore, its a shame actually......Would like to Marski and i AM switching my tune from EPL to Markski when the motor build is done.....Tony and crew were really great 6-10 years ago with Porsche (my car has run perfectly for years) but moved on and seem to just do VW and Audi's now
