speed

The car is a tiptronic, your calculations are wrong. According to the Technical Introduction manual :
996tt Tiptronic(stock gears and tires) 6750rpm = 330kph
996tt Manual(stock gears and tires) 6750rpm = 305kph

top gear ratio in a tip is .83

6400rpm in a tt tip is 313kph = 194.5mph

congrats on a very fast run.

speedo error is about the same as I saw in my manual twin turbo verified by GPS

KPV,

Top Speed @ 7000 is 189-190 mph as stated. Now, I have the capability of 8100 rpm's. We have taken her up to 7500 in the latest dyno runs.

The tranny is far from stock. Steel syncro's in all six gears. Manually activated Tipton oil pump with oil filter with cooler mounted behind passenger side intercooler. The gears are all from Paul Guard and the ratios are as follows:

1st gear - - 3.167
2nd gear- - 1.938
3rd gear - - 1.508
4th gear - - 1.174
5th gear - - 0.968
6th gear - - 0.082

At redline we can attain 60 mph in first gear.

Ruf-Racer has a spectacular aura aboutRuf-Racer has a spectacular aura aboutRuf-Racer has a spectacular aura about
Dunkels

Soon,

The Porsche world should be aware of Dunkels,to be held 2/1/04 in Orange County. There will be hundreds of P cars. Alois always shows up and we do have a Ruf Corral. A google search "dunkels swap meet" should hook you up with past events and current data. Trust me it is a trip. Mr.Dunkel actually has built a mine shaft and as one walks down to the bottom, guess what? A 356 Coupe in sticking out of the ground. Last year he hung a 356 from a huge tree. The man has imagination. I saw "Butzi1, an original 904 race machine that was the personal toy of Butzi Porsche.

Sorry to go so Ot with the reply!

Don't really get the almost hysterical "prove it"-attitude. I've been pushing my car up to 340km/h (indicated) with a passenger and our bags for a week holiday. My gf took a pic of the speedo, but 'only' at 335km/h, so I can't prove the 340...

Sportec set it at 7'200 revs. I hit 340km/h, and there was still some reserve available.

I had a set of almost new Pirelli Corsa. BTW, I always make sure I have the correct pressure, especially with the Corsa.

Kiko, since (I think) the Corsa is slightly smaller in diameter than street tires, indicated speed is even more optimistic than with street tires. This plus the fact I had 200 revs more available should explain the difference.
