Also weight in the sunroof, steel brakes, rear wiper and a few other things Im sure.
Hmm.
So apart from sway bars, rear suspension, LSD, AWD and obviously the turbos/heads is there any other difference between the 996TT and the GT2?
I think that most people that tune their cars don't care about what "it is" rather than how it drives...

They have the C2 stub axels and I will be dropping the car off tomorrow morning and if all goes well I should have the car back for the weekend!

They will be pullin the front diff, the front drive shaft, and replacing my stub axels with the C2 stub axels and road test it to make sure the ABS and PSM is working properly. This will be their first 996tt RWD conversion, but theyve done a few on the 993 and some of the older 911s. BTW, the C2 stub axels were about $145/each (you need 2). So I'm hoping It might be under $1,000 out the door.
Goodluck with it Martin!
I'm positive that the GT2 and X50 and TurboS models have the same engine and am pretty sure they have the same tranny (different cover plates).
It's easy to get distracted by minute diffrences between models in the auto industry. Sure a real GT2 is more desirable, but given the $40,000+ used price difference I'm happy with my RWD, 600 HP, PSS9, X50 car with PSM and rear seats (that never get used).
Like someone mentioned above, I'm more concerned about the way the car drives than what it says outside or inside. One thing I would really like is an LSD. I hear it was optional on some euro models only on the TT.
Trojanman29: What shop is doing the work for you? I am anxioulsy awaiting your report. Keep us updated.
