yup, watt is correct. there is just absolutely no way to guarentee one at MSRP right now. However, i doubt the premiums will last long at all so just wait it out and time will tell.

Nah I'll wait for MSRP, but by then I may lose interest anyway. ;-) (So, that's good!)

at 1500/year for something like 3 years, you shouldn't have to wait long for sub MSRP. the cobra too sounds very interesting - especially as just a play toy. i read an article recently wherein they stated 90 to 95% of the cobra came from the GT. they are talking about putting in the GT motor instead of the current 600+ hp V10 in the prototype. this car will weight 3100 vs. the GTs 3300 to 3400 and should be quite fun as well. they are talking preminarly about a $100k sticker. the straight line acceleration for the GT is mighty nice, but the lateral Gs probably reflect the weight and 2WD. the handling should be better in the cobra owing to the reduced weight.

I agree the steam should blow off fairly quickly on this one(GT), and yes the Cobra does sound interesting, and looks great in the new motor trend(March).

i think the premium sports car market has so much product and so much competition now, as buyers, we should never order and pay window, but collect the deals when the mfrs are fighting to move their units!!!!n take a chance on waiting

witness gt2, TT prices.

call N/A marketing for Ford and see if you can get a test drive at one of the cars on the proving ground. If you can get a test drive they will connect you with a spot on a dealers list. The dealers are being told right now that if they get one on allotment, that MSRP is just that and not to inflate the price. One way to angle on the test drive is to tell them that you write for on online porsche web magazine and are interested in telling your readers about how good the car really is. In response to the lateral G's and how the cobra will be better, I'm not sure if lighter with a higher center of gravity will result is better handling or better lateral G's for the Cobra.
