Auto Show Gallardo Ugly!

I am obviously a Lambo fan but the Gallardo is butt ugly to me!

The car looks scrunched, like someone smashed the front with a baseball bat and kicked the tail in. I think the Murci looks fair but really dislike the Gallardo, worse in person than in pictures.

Look at how "cab forward" it looks when compared to the Murci. Notice how short the hood is, and then combined with a very long steering wheel column, it really looks out of proportion. The hood really sloops and drops quickly (droops), rather than slicing forward if I am explaining this well.

Compare this to the Elise, which I love:

ColorChange,

I couldnt agree with you more about the Gallardo. If a person really wants a Lambo, just go all out and get the real one: The Murci!

Both are good looking lambos IMO....I like the cleaner side profile of the gallardo more than the murci, that lower intake on the murci looks out of place and glued on!! If the gallardo had those 'bat wings' and scissor doors it would be the ultimate car...dont forget the price difference between the two...the Gallardo is a bargain LOL

"Look at how "cab forward" it looks"

Probably handles like a dream because of that...Very tight... I would imagine in the corners, like riding on rails!!!!

Rockitman, you could be right but I haven't driven one. Will it out handle the elise? Doubtful. Throw a blower on the elise and I think you would spank the Gallardo all over the track, and look much better while doing it (in my opinion), for a less than 1/2 the price.

I think the main reason the Gallardo looks even somewhat cool is because it is reminiscent of the Murci (which looks awesome). If it were a fresh design I would guess people would have a harder time getting used to it.

In this comparison pic the Gallardo looks to me like the stunted poor cousin

When you put them side by side like the picture above, clearly the Gallardo looks like the economy version of the Murci.

Come on Tim...An Elise better looking than a Gallardo??? An Elise looks like a riced out Opel GT from the 70's....Not my cup of tea!!!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I drove a Gallardow/Egear two days ago and found it to be the most impressive car I have ever driven. I did not want to get out. The instant I did I decided to cancel my Porsche TT Cab and order a Gallardo.

I do not really like the rear, but the performance/feel of this car outweighs it. Extremely tight/stable and the sound is just intoxicating.

Ugly or not the Gallardo is bad azz!!

Personally I don't like the Gallardo or Murci and would get a late model Diablo. I love the Diablo!

It looks way too similar to a Toyota Celica.

I said the same thing about it yesterday at the show (with ColorChange).

It really doesn't if you see them close to each other, or you look for more than just a glance, but....

at a glance, it really does!

Literally, one night coming out of a restaurant, 3 of my car buddies (360, C4S, and 2 911's) between them, we all saw a yellow celica parked up front (where normally the nicer cars are).
The 360 owner and I at the same times said, "Cool look there's a...." Then realized it wasn't a Gallardo. We had to do a double take to make sure. lol

Scott, the reason I say that is because there was a canyon run here recently and some high-end exotics showed up as well as 1 Gallardo and when it was pulling up as I glanced over I thought Celica in my head and turned back and my friend's like "hey, look, it's the new lamborghini with normal doors" and I looked back kinda dumbfounded and just said "huh, I saw it, but didn't notice at all".....here's a picture from that event, look at the celica in the background
