be careful what you wish for, and bring a change of shorts.
Come on guys, you know a Veyron will hand that thing it's *** on the highway.

Thanks for the kind words guys, I try to liven this place up a bit between bannings.

now after all that, let's see some TT's & GT2's kick Bug ***! never mind the 1/4 ET's, i'd love to see some sub 18 sec 0-300kmh times!
all respect to the big gun TT's on here, but the fastest 911 based 0-300's i've seen yet are still in the 21 second range. 800HP cars by Gemballa and 9ff... Jurgen Alzen, Bilstein, H&R and RS Tuning have just launched their "Mission 400" 997 with 1000HP, designed to go after the Bug's 252mph top speed record. i imagine that should be pretty rapid to 300kmh...
But so far, the fastest tuned cars in the 0-300kmh (documented) still seem to be the 1000HP Skylines. I'm pretty sure the TT Vipers that do well in the recent 1 mile shootouts would be mighty quick. Has anyone figured out how to derive/guestimate 0-300kmh for those?
i've little doubt that the 996TT based monsters of some 6speeders would be in the teens, even low-teens for the 0-300. so someone please go out with a VBox/AX22 and make us proud! (once the weather is better over there i suppose

Drives/runs just like stock till a hair over 3k rpm when it melts the 345's in 2nd at half throttle and on a cool night will turn 3rd over pretty solidly. One of my favorite TT cars ever and insanely smooth.

probably not but Im asking just in case....

Some interesting posts here, I agree with both sides of the argument. Obviously for a factory stock car to perform like the Veryon is quite an achievement. You can for a lot less money have a Viper TT that will destroy it and probably a few of our highly tuned Porsche TT's.
I personally don't care for the looks of the Veryon and it is too heavy for my liking. I think the Saleen S7 with the 1000 hp motor which weighs nearly 2000 lbs less would put a spanking on that Bug and looks way better to me.
Anyhow who would have ever thought a major car company would produce a factory car with 1000 hp? Pretty cool!

Shoot me a PM if you want to figure it out.
RE: what the big vipers run a 0-300km/h. I don't have an exact time but I know it's a lot faster than 21 seconds. Considering 80-210 comes in a hair under 10 sec. 80-186 would be what 9.5 just to be fair. I can't see 0-80 being much more than 5 seconds on a VERY VERY bad launch. So I'm figuring conservatively a low 14 sec 0-300 time on street tires.
I agree with Hesperus, Buddy G, and Vicious on occasion (V, loved the
quartermile vid of your buddy's "sissy red" viper). Some of these cars
are so one dimensional that it is Painful! My plans are simple,
10 second quarter mile street car that can win my class at Brainerd (will
take about a 1:50 this year), and also able to pull a 200 mph plus top speed.
Oh, did I mention my wife drives it occasionally??
If I had huge money, I would have an RT12 and a TT Viper for fun...
The Veyron is an amazing accomplishment!!
my two pennies, thats all.

I suspect the three of us would have very similar times, so if at least one of us can get a run in...we should know the capabilities of the cars.

I asked once Ryan(Shank) why he sold his Underground construction twin TT... and he said it was to much hastle... not drivable... the clutch, tires, etc... simply a pain in the ***.
I never had one so I dont know... but when u get way up there.. drivability becomes an issue- I know just from my 640 awhp Evo8. and If anyone tells me IM full of it... well get in a Evo8 with a GT42r turbo and see how long ull last driving around town... Im assuming same goes for other cars liek supras and Vipers...
I may be wrong but this is just my opinion.. opinions are relative...markski

ok, so many gearheads won't care about the parking space...
but i guess the point is that the Veyron does so many things so darn well. it may not score "100" in every single category, but it probably scores a "97" in most categories, where many tuner cars may score "100" in one, and struggle to get 70-80 in others.
and well the Bug should, for what they're charging for it!
(funny, i sound like a Bugatti nut-hugger, when really i'm not! it commands respect, but it doesn't excite me in the same way a Macca or Pagani would)
