Dension Gateway 500 iPod interface installed

After all the years of waiting, I finally have an iPod installed in my 911.
I have a 2003 which was the first year of the MOST fiber optic system.
So far the system works well. I have not really used the car much due to the winter weather.
I did a test hook up before making the effort to properly install the system to make sure everything was working. This install was surprisingly easy. I had a factory CD changer and just used the power from the CD line and of course the fiber optic line that went to the CD changer. I installed everything into the trunk as I do not need to access the iPod since the radio can control it. I rather have less inside the passenger compartment anyway.
Here is a link to my install picture. I do not have radio pictures yet but you can see all the songs on the Nav screen. Pretty slick.

Thanks to Eric at bumperplugs who got us these systems as soon as it was possible.

No real splicing required. With the crimp connectors (the blue ones in the photos) it is easy to get power without stripping any wires. The fiber optic connections are very easy, they just slide together and by pressing a tab, it locks together. Much easier then I anticipated!

Thanks PerioKid, Me and a buddy are going to give it a go this weekend probably. If all fails, off to GMG. Is there any particular reason why you just didnt devote the cd changer power to the denison unit? Seems like you'd never use the cd changer again, and it's cleaner that way. If you needed to return back to stock for resale you could always add the cd changer power connector back? Aside from removing the cd changer, what panels are required for removal?

The only panel to remove is the passenger side rear panel in the trunk. It does not even need to be removed completely for good access.

Anyone can explain differences between Gateway 100, 200i, 300, 500?
