jqhayden is infamous around these parts
Pretty sure its completely stock. I never saw higher than 0.7 in any gear before the TJW mod. I did cut 2" holes in exhaust...then got a 0.9 (1st gear), 0.8 (2nd), and 0.7 in the rest.

Yesterday, after i just got new plugs and a new MAF...I got 1.1 in 1st gear once...normally its been around 0.8 or 0.9ish (positive i saw 1.1 though, cause my eyes bulged out of my head), and 0.7 in the rest of the gears.

This is all on 93 pump.

Just repeated 1.1 bar on the way home from work, but not consistently repeatable. After many tries, mainly getting 0.7 & 0.8, I finally got 1.1 one time...on the last try right before my house.

Still perplexed...

Sounds like a spike to me. Did you reset the computer and have it learn again?

I didnt reset it. Not sure if the shop did or not, but they didnt mention it.

What do you mean sounds like a spike? Why would that occur? I can definitely feel it pull harder those few times it does hit 1.1.

A spike is essentially some reason, either mechanical or electronic that prevents the car from properly controlling the boost in the lower gears primarily, but also between shifts. At 1.1, I wouldn't worry 'too' much about it, but it's worth keeping an eye on to make sure problems not creep up on you.

Why did you only go with 1" holes? most of the people that have done this mod have gone much larger, so I'm just curious. Thx.

To be fair I did the holes of various sizes and in the end welded them back up, you are probably much better off with Ken's PBK Solution and you get more power too.

My Indy has done three and believes it's the best size for sound. At this point I would have to say he is right. The sound is perfect for me. As far as performance gains, I can't say nor can he.

Oh yes! I can't even imagine having more power than this. With so many of you running way more HP I have a new respect for your driving abilities to say the least. For me, it's plenty. An exhaust one day perhaps. Some coilovers for sure. Just need $$$$$$.

I made this mod yesterday too.
Some drone from 1800-2800 but it goes away after 3000.
Much deeper idle tone, better in general. Made 1 5/16 holes (happened to have such tool handy).

Not bad for a free mod I think

Your kidding right? Drone? Listen and drive any aftermarket exhaust then let me know how much the stock exhaust drones. (I did 2" holes in mine no drone, still to quiet)

I agree. Did the same mod but 1 inch holes. Like the sound improvement but no drone for sure. I need more! More money to buy a real exhaust

I am planning on a power package like the Markski P800 or Switzer later on (when I have the possibility...).
I just wanted to have a little extra since the OEM exhaust sounds like a lawnmower
