Hey guys ... hope you are well.

We ran at VIR this past weekend. I posted some in-car videos and pictures yesterday. Check out the SUPERCUP car ... WOWSA, very fast. I decided this weekend that I'm definitely buying one this summer. I love my chipped / modded 996TT ... the only car to pass me all weekend was the Supercup car, but hey what do you expect?

Enjoy ...

FYI top speed in my car at the apex of the front stretch (at the oak tree just passed the finish line / flag station) is about 145mph. You can see how I almost blow thru turn 1 in the first video ... even though I appear to "remain calm". hahahaha

Also here are pics and video from our CMP event on 03/12:

And pics from VIR on 02/10:

Happy driving!!

^^^ Reminds you of your own car? ;-) Someone buy Joe's car so I don't have to be continually tempted.

Nice set up on the video. Might want to consider putting the wheel cam out the back window. Your driving is very smooth. Would kill to do VIR - nice run off. Willow and Mazda suck if you leave the track......

Can you tell us more about your video recording set-up ? How do you record and sync the 3 video feeds ? Data logger ?

I'd like some info on the camera as well. I would like to build a two camera system that I can easily move from car to car if you are willing to share your info.

Thanks

Hey guys ... actually I built the cam system myself after quite a bit of research and testing with a bunch of components last year. I'd be happy to build anyone interested a similar system if you want it. It was honestly very time-consuming and tough to get everything just right. But after building, testing, then upgrading components for 2 systems of my own, I now have what I consider to be the perfect in-car cam system - including the perfect cam mounts. One thing you wouldn't know by watching the video samples on my website is how good the quality of the video and audio actually is on the original DVD produced by the system. It's friggin awesome. When watching it on the big screen in surround sound (volume way up) it's just like being back in the car on the track ... but without the G's. haha

My system actually has 4 cams with 4 hand-made mounts I came up with (incredibly strong and versatile) but I usually only film with 3 of the cams at a time because I like the big picture background and the picture in picture views to the lower left and right when watching it. I can also run a 4 cam view but in that case you have to set it up to display each cam view in each corner of the screen, which isn't as entertaining to watch in my opinion. But you can have a 2-cam, 3-cam, or 4-cam system and then mount, film and edit how you wish.

If you watch the Road Atlanta videos I shot in December (samples not as high quality on the website to keep them small for fast downloads and viewing) you'll see the interior rear cam (filming the chase) and also one video that I put in rotate mode for various, random views around the track. Since then I've built 3 new exterior mounts that give you the ability to literally film in any direction or angle from outside of the car. Here's the link ....

Also note that I purposely built the system as a portable one so I could install it in my car, pull it out and reinstall it in anyone else's car in literally 5 minutes. This way I also don't have to keep an expensive system in the car at all times, and can film anyone, anywhere, anytime. I've been renting it out at track days for other guys to use which has been a big hit.

If anyone is interested in a similar system, catch up to me and I'll look into building it for you. It's kind of a pain but it's alot of fun. I plan on building a few more of these anyway for multiple users at future track events.
