good to see that this actually went somewhere...now that I am back in the M I obviously not worried about it but would like to see some results on your cars!

I like this...and it has the plus of being "cheap" and "easy to remove"...that is huge for me. It look great. Please share your thoughts on the fogs....how much can one see with the tint on (what tint is it?).

Thanks. Looks great, less billing.

They are cheap and easy to remove. And you can vary the tint. At one time I had the dark tint like now but had the lighter tint on the fogs. It looked good (no pictures sorry) and worked just fine. I tried to put a clear film over all of it to seal it in and in that process I ruined the entire tint job, that is why everything is dark now.

The fogs are about useless, I knew that going into it so I replaced the fogs with a yellow bulb. The yellow looks really good. And it helps be be seen. But for a useful purpose the fogs dont have any.

I added another set of lights in my bumper. I've included pictures of the yellow fogs with my yellow "city lights" and my lower lights.

The switch for the lower lights is a foot well switch from a 996 so it looks oem.

I was referring to the "smoked" films, as in Lamin-X or similar films, not spray-on tint when I mentioned the purple hue....and sometimes it even appears yellowish...

Also, the condensation comment was referring to when you remove the lenses from the headlight housing. Lots of times, it's near impossible to create a completely water tight seal again, thus letting moisture inside the housing.

Awesome stuff....thanks.

Are you saying that the fogs stink without any film...I tend to agree....
Or, did the film take the "decent" fog function and destroy it.

I think I might try to do what you did before the failed clear covering it all....

Was this stuff hard for a tint shop? Did you do it yourself....if so, was it hard? I have never "tinted" and have only seen it done a few times (mostly on tuner tv shows on the Speed Channel....).

TIA

The film took decent fog and destroyed it. That is why I just went with a yellow light.

I did it myself.
I removed the lights went inside the house and applied the entire film. The film from stickercity comes precut for our lights. After removing all of the air and water bubbles I could I sat the lights outside in the sun for a few hours and ended up letting them cure about 24-30 hrs.

After I got around to reinstalling the lights I went to wal-mart bought a hobby knife and trimmed out the beam section. It was very easy I did it myself. And as I stated before I have had them for about 2 years with no problems at all.

No purpling no moisture no peeling I recommend this mod.

I was thinking about the purpling and on some of the tints I have seen that cover the low beam I have seen them purple. Perhaps the purple effect has something to do with the quality of the film and possible light source.

i opened a set of litronic lights...very simple, takes about 25 mins per light...
then you just reseal it...
i dont see why you would pay anyone even a dollar to do this, preheat your oven to 200 degrees, pop in the headlight for 20 mins, pull it out, and pry off the plastic cover, that is all....you just have to be not stupid enough and yank it too hard and break it, if its not going easily, put in oven for few more mins and that should do it.

i have one painted black on the inside, the spare one...havent tested it on the car yet. i used high temp flat black paint
