bm3r, sounds like everything is working in your case, and the light does go out, so, I would be thankful it's not worse.

thanks for the info! it's just odd that the light is on when I start the car, then it comes off ONLY after driving it...oh well. Im thankful it's not broken!

In my case I do not want the wing go up anymore, others just want the GT2 deck and no this annoying sound and light.

I have done some search on the board (Porsche PhD) and it seems that there is a cheap and simple way:

1.- Unplug the harness on the right side of the engine deck.

2.- If you look at the harness from the rear, with the lock at the top:
a) Start at the bottom row:
i. thick brown and thick black = fan motor
ii. next to them a thin red/blue and brown/red =lamp
iii. next is a single thin wire for brake light power
b) top row:
i. BLANK,
ii. then first is a single wire for the brake light(signal),
iii. next a green gray spoiler switch wire,
iv. next yellow/green thick spoiler motor (positive) ,
v. next thin gray/brown spoiler switch,
vi. Last thick green/blue (ground) spoiler motor.

3.- Unplug the thick green/blue, by pulling it out of the harness (ground for motor), Tape it up.

4.- Then connect gray/brown with a spoiler power thick yellow/green.

5.- No light no hot spoiler motor wires.

6.- You can remove the spoiler switch bottom from the dash if needed.

I am putting a stationary wing on my 2001 C2 tonight. Is this what I need to do to keep the light off on my dash? Or, is this only good for TT's?

Thanks,

Paul

Worked for me. After completing the wiring switcheroo, I started up the engine the I got a "Spoiler Malfuction" message. It hasn't reappearred. Hopefully it stays that way.

interesting, my wing was working (manually) even with the light but now I can't seem to get the spoiler to go up anymore. it does not flip up automatically while speeding. i checked out the pumps and even after making sure everything was working right it seems to simply not work even manually now. i think i'm gonna do the trick wiring and install a GT2 lid

Okay... I thought all was fine with the wire swapping until I hit the magical 75 mph today and a wonderful beep and "Failure Spoiler Control" message along with the little red spoiler light glared at me on the dash. When I restarted the car, the message and light did not reappear. I'm taking it for granted that they will reappear once I hit 75 mph again. Am I doing something wrong?

The only step I didn't understand on the OP's instructions was step 5:

"5.- No light no hot spoiler motor wires."

I didn't understand it so I didn't do it. Is this where I went wrong?

TIA

I just pulled the wires and tied them together and taped up the hot ones. Theres no reason to spend money on a harness just to put a couple wires together.

My problem is that I tried the OP instructions with the exception of step 5 and still get a malfuction light when I go over 75. Can someone interpret step 5 for me? Thanks.
