the dual exhaust tips? If it didn't have the dual tips it wasn't an X50 or it was modded? I've seen a couple of Turbo S' that have just the oval tips. What gives? Aren't all S' X50's or is that not true?

I think not...

I just found a sales brochure for the 996TT and GT2, it is an option (X54) titled Four Stainless Steel Tailpipes.

See page 21 in sales brochure link:

From condorman:

Porsche 911 Turbo S Coupe

The vital statistics of the Turbo S are impressive. Power is raised by 30bhp to 450bhp, and pulling power leaps to 620Nm from 560Nm. This increase in engine responsiveness manifests itself particularly during in-gear acceleration – which is stunning. The engine delivers these remarkable figures courtesy of larger turbochargers, modified intercoolers and revised engine management electronics. Additionally, the six speed manual transmission has been strengthened to handle the torque increase.same as X50

The brakes of the 911 Turbo S have also been uprated similarly. Fitted as standard are the Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) system, offering a 50% weight reduction per wheel over the conventional steel brake disc equivalent, as well as superior fade resistance characteristics under heavy braking.

Thanks for the help guys! I'm looking at a couple of Turbo S cars with oval tips and I wanted to make sure they are all X50's.
