Question What am I doing wrong?

I listed my CarGraphic loud muffer for sale. I want to do something quieter. I've only had it for a few months, < 4000 miles on it. Listed it for $1000 less than I paid for it ($3500). No takers, not even a offer. Price too high? Everybody wants EP? WTF? I don't understand. Please give me some honest feedback. I can take it.

I think the price was a tad too high.... $2500 range might get it done? But that would be a big loss.

Europipe seems like the only one that will bring $3300-3500 used.

BTW,
I bought a PSI loud for $4900 and sold it for about $2100.

Hmmm. $2500 for the last one huh? That's a pretty big loss. I guess I'll keep it. Thanks for the comments guys. I'm just a little shocked. To hell with the HB police!

A EP2 Loud sells for 5,000USD, he sold for 3,500USD, that is a loss of 1,500USD or 70% of new. EP's are a very sought after pipe. Maybe you should try lowering the price a bit more??? Say 1,900USD or 55% of new??? That is only a 15% spread from the sale str8blst reports. You said you wanted honesty.

I appreciate that. Really. I think that at this point I would rather leave it on and take my chances with the cops than sell a $4500 TUV rated, hardly used muffer for such a low price. But I appreciate the comment. I thought there might be someone out there who was thinking of buying a CG pipe and might want to save a $1000 or so. I guess not. Like I said in the beginning, it sounds like everybody wants EP. I don't argue that the EP's are a nice muffler, but they're not the only nice muffler on the market. GMG makes a fine *** set of pipes too but they just didn't fit my use case. I can see what your intention was with your post and the %'s you quote. That was constructive criticism. I guess my reaction came from hearing how easy it was for someone to sell their EP when I'm having no luck selling a CG. I say no luck because no one has even made an offer. No big deal. It's nothing in the big picture. I just got one of the new CBR600RR's and have already scheduled my first two track days at Willow Springs Thanks again.

HEy,

Just get used to it... what is the big deal. heck, I had my neighbor come out with a gun and threatened to kill me becasue mine was too loud.... I still kept it.

Spend the money on some mod that will not rot under ur car.... it's not like ur buying interior or something that you see everytime you get in the car.
so u spent $3500 ... will sell for $2500 and buy another for ??? $3K? $5K ??? that is crazy my friend.
I heard a handful of exhausts and after 5 minutes they all sound the same.
good luck,
markski
