Did you actually get the codes read? Do this and give us the numbers. Did they do a pressure test...sounds like a leak. If not when were the plugs changed...or coil packs may be cracked.

the tech guys have done a leak test and thats where they change the hose for the divertor area. reading the codes does not help cos every time shows not fault once the engine is restarted..
by the the way what plugs are u refering to?? and what a coil pack??? could u enlighten me... how does the maf works .. does have sensors... i need to learn... cant let these tech guys tell me bull when it comes... around.
Can i ask is it true that the brake switch affect the PSM ABS... when i brake the lights do come on... as usual ... but strange think is that when i brake the psm and abs do lght up too.. and rpm goes irregular ..so what do u think... is that switch a problem????

I had a similar problem with the ABS and PSM lights on. My shop couldn't figure it out for several days. They replaced the throttle body and that solved it.

Terence, if you threws codes they do not "go away" by restarting the car....you need to have them hook up the PST2 or PIWIS tester and read the codes THAT ARE STORED in the ECU.

Hot-film MAF sensors use a centrally-heated film element. These sensors function on the electrical principle that resistance increases with temperature. As intake air moves past the film, the cooling effect causes a measurable drop in resistance, and thus lower voltage is required to maintain the prescribed temperature. The MAF control unit is sent a reference voltage of 5V, and returns around .4V to.5V at idle and from 4.5V to 5V at full throttle. Based on a fixed data set, an accurate assumption of air mass is made. This information is sent to the ECU for appropriate adjustments to timing and AFR.

Terence, We really need to codes to help much further. ABS/PSM are just idiot lights that can mean many things.

My guess on throttle body change as posted above is it was cracked and therefore leaked.

This happened to me too......if it ONLY triggers the PSM and ABS lights on the dash as SOON as you hit the brakes.....it's the little brake light sensor behind the brake lever....took about 15min to replace and was like $25.

No way that would effect how the car runs and idles....do we have another guess before the codes are read?

Picked up my car from the dealer today for a PSM/ABS light issue. It was a simple fix...the brake light sensor was not working. I had no problems with power loss. Just everytime I started the car and pressed the brakes the lights would show. Anyway, it was $168 to fix and it was covered by my total shield extended warranty.

I guess there is a sensor behind the brake pedal that when you push it the brake lights turn on. Well, my brake lights were not turning on when I pressed my brake pedal and that was the problem.

Brake switch

Same here. Fortunately Sharkwerks looked at the codes and knew where to look for the problem. It is a small cheap plastic brake switch behind the pedal.
