Passport G-timer

Is anyone using one of these or something similar? For $180 it seems like a fun little device to measure performance. I'm not so interested in the dyno calculation - I'll go for a real dyno test for that. I like the 0-60 measurment and g-force data.

A friend has it and is really amused with it. He's a real techno gizmo nerd and told me that it's measurements seemed accurate. (Not sure how he quantified those figures, but....). I think if you can get it for a really good price, it would be fun.

I had one when I had my mustang. You're right, the 0-60 and the g-force features are the best. If I remember correctly, the HP estimator wasn't toooooo far off as long as you enter the correct info. I think it estimated me at 15+ my most recent dyno run at the time.

I just bought one from ebay for $59.00 including shipping. I will definitley get $60 worth of techno-geek type fun from it.

This email confirms that you, mjlc4, have paid masosnowski@gmail.com $59.99 USD using PayPal.

I have a Gtech, Its pretty accurate if set up correctly.
The last time I used it it was only 5hp from my most recent dyno.

(the gtech) Is too large for a single DIN slot.
I install mine on a as needed bases. It may be on the windshield for a few days a month. Most of the time it sits in the door pocket.

EDIT...My mistake the passport will fit as seen in the post below. I have the Gtech and it is much larger.

Thumbs up

I have one and it is a pretty cool little gadget.

I mounted it in my dash cubbie hole....fit like a glove. Picked up the switched 12v from the phone connector and hardwired the phone jack.

Brando - that is a slick little install. Did you originally have it on the windshield? I'm curious if the accuracy is effected by the location.

I ordered mine from Amazon and expect it any day now....

I called Escort a few months back and they were on sales for $69.00 for the GT2.

Its a great fun gadget and is accurate within 1/1000 of a second to the clocks at Daytona and Sebring per Escort.

I use it when I want to do 0 to 60 and 1/8, 1/4 and 1/2 mile and 80 to 0 and 60 to zero.

Does a bunch more stuff and you can download it on your pc and save sessions.

How can you go wrong for $69 incl shipping.

Escort is not making them anymore tho,, they are discontinued and who knows if there are any left in stock.

They were $200 + when they first came out.

Don

No effect on accuracy at all. You just want it as close to the center of the vehicle as possible and level from side to side.

I bought mine off ebay for $46, brand new in the package!
