Reset Radio?

I took my car to the collision center and it seems they let the battery run out... Clock was reset and my radio was asking for a code... I had no #@! clue what the code was so I punched in some random letters and now all it says is "Waiting"

Is this any easy fix or do I have to take this back to the dealer?

It doesn't even ask for a code any more now by the way after those first two failed attempts

For future reference, leave the radio on for 60 minutes in the WAIT position and it will ask for the code again. 3 wrong attempts and it will go back to that screen.

Any one know the procedure for retrieving the code?

Check out Rennlist. I did the same thing to my '01 Boxster S over a year ago. I stopped by the dealership, and the service manager gave me the radio code free of charge - very cool guy. They also changed a parking light free of charge in October - but I digress.

There are some websites that try to get you to buy the code online. But, I think there are other online resources that Rennlist threads will direct you to. It might also be available here on 6speedonline. Another resource would be Porsche Pete's Boxster Board (ppbb.com).

Are you sure you didn't get a little white tag with your owners manual that has the code on it? Don't be insulted - just want to be sure. It could save you some effort.

Yup I found it under the hood, they had written it there. Almost faded out though.

Don't mean to hijack your thread, but I just bought an 03 carrera certified pre-owned. The dealer says this model does not have a radio code. Is he right?

Becker CDR220 Radio Code

Please help. I need security code for 1999/996 Becker CDR220. The radio dot lights display don't lit well. So the serial # can't be read well. Fist letter look like >> or X or Y , second letter looks like E or 5 ... I don't have tools to take out the radio unit. Can anyone know the code for this? Thank you!
