PMed, the custom ones do seem much cheaper then the genuine Porsche ones.

daytrader,

how hard was this to get it done on the porsche.
i have red seat belts on mine but i am thinking of getting another car and want to do orange or yellow belts. So wanted to know how much of a challenge it was to get them changed. Also how was the fitting etc.

I would call Suncoast Porsche for OEM.

Don't gamble on "cheap" seat belts

It is not just the belt, but the entire mechanism that is replaced. I would not do off the shelf belts! It is actually a fairly easy DIY. Make sure you disconnect the battery when you do this mod.

got mine from Gert as well.

I installed red belts in both of my 996's, first off order the OEM ones, the " universals wont work with the adjustable hight and with the wiring harness. Its not that hard to install these once you have the rear panel covers off. From what i recall front/rear have 2 bolts that come out,the fronts also have a wiring harness.FWIW i got mine from gert at carnewal.....twice

I had a local indie ordered the materials. Then he replaced the black one with the new red. I have matched the new material with OEM, the result is 90% look and feel.
