evo intake install

Im installing an evo air intake on my C2, the air opening on the intake and the one on the spoiler don't aligne properly, there is a 1/4"-1/2" gap.

what am I missing here. if it rains, water gonna get in engine compartement?? Also there is a metal bracket which I can't seem to find where it goes..

P.S. It didn't come with instructions.

What year is your car? In ROW cars the facelift cars have an extra pump located in the lower left of the engine bay which needs to be moved. To move it you may find that bracket helpful...

thanks guys, the problem is not the pump. everything seems to be aligned properly except the Intake opening/spoiler air opening.

the gap is the only thing I do not like about this kit - I have a 1/4 inch gap also - no issues from this for the past 2yrs
Someone here fixed this by using the stock snorkle part attached to the Evo box

what about when it rains? water goes inside engine compartment??

Does that mean there is a flaw it the design of intake for early 996s.
Can someone give details about any mods to fix this.

I feel like hot air is going in the engine cause of the gap!
