Emergency please help

I was packing for a road trip today and locked my only key in the trunk of my 911! Please help me figure out a way to get it ASAP. Is there any way? I tried a pen to unlock the trunk and that obviously didnt work.

There is a trunk release cable located under/behind the passenger side headlight. Sometimes it's been rerouted to the passender side air scoop in the front bumper. Take a look in that area to see if you can find it.

Check the right front finder above the door hinge. Look inside the finder, there should be a cable with a loop (or something simular) you can hook a wire on it and pull. Good luck.

Answer (with photo) is on Renntech - you should become a member there as all of the real technical info is there: http://www.renntech.org/forums/index...20front%20hood

Here is the relevant image - flipped to represent US orientation.

Basically, there is a manual release cable on the passenger side somewhere between the trunk and the wheel housing. You have to fish for it, as they are sometimes moved around.

Some people are lucky and find it by removing part of the wheel housing liner. Others have had to remove part or their bumper.

Good luck.

ok well a tow truck is on the way. they sent a flat bed accidentally so i have to wait for another to get here. once at the dealership, assuming they can begin work right away, how long will it take to get the trunk open? im on a super tight time schedule.

If you have enough time, you might give it a try while you wait. The wheel liner is just held on by snap clips. Pull a few off, and peek in with a flashlight. You might get lucky. (have a coat hanger and some pliers handy...)

At the dealer, you should be looking at less than 30 minutes. Unless they decide they need to take your wheel off, and you have lug-locks with the key ALSO in the trunk...

Normally you can fish it out from below the headlight housing. Use a coat hanger that you have taped over to protect arts from scratches and lift the bottom of the light housing slightly using a wooden paint stirrer or plastic spatchula and fish away.

If the dealer ends up getting it tell them to reroute the release cable in a good position for next time. A good place is behind the tow hook cover, then just remove the cover and pull.

well i got it fixed via the dealer but they broke my trunk hinge in the process...and deny it. they claim that it just "stopped working" and had nothing to do with their opening of the trunk. so on top of the $120 for one hour of labor they charged me for opening the trunk, they're trying to charge me another $160 for the hinge...

....and that is why I stay away from the dealers.. I've had my share of lies and trying to sell me something I didn't need.
Next time... be patient and use your resources here and the other forums. You'll be suprise on all the information you can receive....
