Question Auto door locks

Any way to turn off the auto door locks (DIY possibly?) on a '99 (they lock once the car starts moving)? Or do I have to take it in to a dealer to have it re-programmed? Can an Indy perform the re-programming or is this a dealer only thing? It's been very annoying with passengers having to pull the handle twice to get out once we get somewhere. I know, not a big deal and I'm use to it, but they always get confused by it!

Cool

Hummm......mine don't auto lock and I was thinking I would like them to.

I think it is a function that has to be programmed by the dealer.

Me too but usually they grab the handle before I can hit the button!

Then they look at me (with that WTF look), like the door is "broken"!

i know you can turn off and on the auto door lock for when you get out of the car with the key fob...if you press the lock unlock button a bunch of times in a row the lights flash for a longer period of time approx 2-3sec....this turns on and off the auto door lock...like i said im not sure if its for when your in the car but i know it effects the locks when you get out...

That sounds a lot better! It can't take them longer than 15 minutes to program it. And the problem is that Niello is the only dealer in the Sacramento area.

Depends on your dealer - no charge at mine.

I wish mine would lock when I started moving and I would like it to auto lock after I get out. Let me add one more to the wish list, I want to open the top with the remote. Different strokes
I guess
