Recommendations for a fitted car cover?
Recommendations for a fitted car cover?
I'm looking for suggestions for a car cover to protect my new-to-me C4S. It's gonna have to live outdoors for the next couple of months. I live in a very mild climate so I don't have to deal with blazing sun or torrential downpours. I'm looking for light & soft but durable. A stuff sack would be a nice bonus. I'm trying to keep my budget under $200.
Note: I was trying all last night and all today (using 3 different browsers on 2 different computers) to search for older threads but just kept ending up with blank pages.

Please tell me that you have Ferraris taking up your garage spots. My C4S is older than my fiancee's car, but the p-car gets the garage spot.

The C4S wasn't a planned purchase. I was just dumb enough to stop by a car dealership "to look around."
And thanks for the suggestions!
I use the silver oem porsche one, I think I paid around $200 for it from the dealer. It comes with a little bag and a cheesy lock. It's a good value in my opinion considering the prices of most other things at the dealer
All that being said, car covers are bitter sweet.. If you store your car outside for any length of time you will get micro scratches from the cover, but they can be buffed out. I stopped using mine for the most part.. (not saying you shouldnt get one - just know that's going to happen)
good luck!

As you search, consider:
* the tighter fitting the cover, the more it presses dust/dirt against the paint, increasing the chance of scratching
* the more it is "rain proof," the more it will trap moisture, increasing the chance of clouding the paint
Thus, I never put a cover on a dusty/dirty car and only use it for sun protection. I've found that a form-fitting but essentially relaxed (vs. tight) cotton cover works best for me. The best value I could find was a cotton cover (C16204PD; size G2 for a 996 C2) from Covercraft. I've had it for several years and have been very pleased.
