Turbo Tail on 4s

Hi guys, i'm new...obviously

Always like the turbo tail, and I have an 02 C4s. I've searched, and people said something about the airbox is too big, and that the tail when it comes down will not work?

My question, can't a brother put in aftermarket air filters? or any mods to make this work? I've seen another c4s with a turbo tail...at least it looked exactly like one?

As for finding one, I've seen them go up for sale usually around 500, with the entire hatch assemblies, which look to me like bolt on. I'm pretty good around cars, just never dealt with a p-car.

What say you p-car guru's?

and I know I've seen one that isn't the reps, because the one I saw replaced the long reflector on the c4s. I just need to find someone who's done it, to see how 'big' of a job it is...if it's just buying some K&N cone filters, switching out that metal with the built in LED to the blank smaller turbo one with no LED, I would do it...

Anyone done it, and can help a brother out?

i have looked at the same thing as you, and have u noticed the fresh air duct is on different side with the turbo as opposed to the NA 3.6L engine( the whole panel underneath the wing is definitely different), also the compartment looks different as to where the stuffs are placed, that's why i think it was not worth the job. Definitely a big job to me, maybe u have a better skills, if you can do it, please inform us here~~

that amount of work that needs to be done depends if you have a coupe or cab

on a cab the turbo tail is a direct fit and does not need to be modified... you'll have to move around a few things in the engine compartment (smog filter, air filter.. etc)

for the coupe, the section above the decklid is different in size between the 4S and the turbo.. that section is longer on the 4S due to the integrated brake light that the turbo doesn't have... so you'll have to do some customized work to get that decklid to fit

if you really like the turbo decklid look so much, i would just purchase the replica turbo decklid that fits on the 4S... do a search online or on this forum.. i can't remember off the top of my head but a few websites sell the replica decklid

Thanks guys

Thanks guys...I guess I'm now talked out of doing this mod...and the replica ones, I'm not too fond of because of slight differences. If I ever run across that c4s with this mod again, i swear I'm going to follow her home...you read right, it was a 'her' driving it...

There is was a guy by the name of misha or mishka and he made a bolt on turbo wing for the C4S... The replacement was for the engine hood only and the wing was fixed. This was a while back so I'm not sure if he still does them.

You should probably check w/ Lucent Motors to see if he is still around.

must be misha, i recently bought a GT2m spoiler from them, great people to deal with.
check them out at misha911.com. You can probably find something better than the turbo spoiler there.
