I can see thru the fake front bumper, but what is that strip going across the hood about 6" up from edge of trunk lid????

Lookin' good! I wonder what the engine will be like. There was talk, as late as last week on that other board, about return to a more reliable or tried and true engine (read similar to GT3 sans Ti rods etc. IMO).

I recall that post. They said it was a reliable source but they would not break with any details. I have only heard that the new engine will be the same 3.6L with the X50 powerkit... but we have also heard it will be an M96 based 3.8L all the way to the Cayennes V8. Personaly, i would love to see a variant of the GT3 engine.

I personally would be happier with the wider rear end and more oval lights "a la" the older 911's

I don't know... it still looks to me like just a regular 996 body with some facelift mods and some camouflaging add-ons, not a new model 911 like 964 to 993 to 996 to 997
