My convertible top goes down as always but doesnot come up like its supposed to. Please help Is the fix a DIY?

Hard to tell what the problem is from your description. First thing I'd check is the hydraulic fluid level in the top mechanism. Here's a link to a Renntech article on how to do this: http://www.renntech.org/forums/index...-step-by-step/

Yes,Definitely check the fluid. Takes about 10 min to do.

 

does the top malfunction intermittenly? make sure the car is on level grounds. besides fluid, i would also check fuses. does the car have the smart top mod? if so, i'd check connections there while you are checking the fluid level. any noise when raising the top?

 

As suggested, I checked the fluid. WAY low. What's the replacement fluid? Any hydraulic fluid?

Just called the dealership and they quoted me $50.00! For a 2.5 once bottle.... WHAT??

 

You should have specified that you were going to open the bottle yourself!

 

Yea the Porsche fluid is very expensive. It's all i have used but i have heard of people using like John Deer fluid or something. Search and you will find more info.

 

try a couple other dealers locally. suncoast porsche maybe?
