1/ Clutch starts slipping under full load at low speed in high gear
2/ Clutch pedal pressure is getting very hard.

the amount of slippage will progressively get worse...rpms will spike.

Better to replace it before it goes completely bad otherwise you are also looking at a flywheel @ $700 ish.

How much can you expect to pay for a new clutch? Is OEM the best for daily driving or are their better upgrade options. Also, isn't it a good idea to do the IMS and also RMS while in their? Thanks for the advice/info.

If you are paying someone else conventional advice says to do LNE IMSBR, RMS, and AOS during clutch replacement.

New oem clutch kit for DD on ebay typically for $450-560. 200-400 more at a dealer.

Two good ways, In 4th Gear which is direct drive to the engine, drive about 45mph and floor it, if your RPMs shoot up with not much acceleration the clutch is bad. Also if you floor it really hard and it starts slipping above 6000 rpms.

I had 2 shops tell me my clutch was fine but it was slipping bad over 6000 rpms, I upgraded my clutch (along with the other stuff mentioned by other members) and car is great now.

Thanks for the info on what one should do when they do the clutch! Okay, now does anyone have any estimates on what the labor should be for all those.

How about the labor do all new plugs. When they do plugs at 73K, should I also do wires? How about coil packs? I know a lot of this labor is redundant if you go in separately, so I'm trying to get all the same type stuff covered all at once. Any advice is most appreciated!

Most IMSBR are $1500, ($600 part, rest labor) but if you already have trans out for clutch, possibly less.

Clutch kit $500 ish (discounted), 1000 more for trans R&R and labor.

AOS, $100 part, 1 or 2 hours time once trans is out

RMS, $20 part, 1 hour time

Plugs are $5-10 each, plus maybe an hour or two of time. Coil packs aren't required unless they are cracked. No plug wires. The labor for plugs is not redundant with the above work mentioned, and it is fairly easy to do if you've done plugs before.

LOL, that's a random place to ask that question.

There are two cam sensors, one per bank on USA cars.

On the drivers side it's behind the rear wheel atop the bank 1 head (near the AOS bellows). Rear of engine (flywheel side).

On the passenger side it's underneath the air conditioner compressor near the chain tensioner on top of the bank 2 head. Front of engine (pulley side).
