X54 Tips

Just had the X54 tips installed. Why is it that when the tips are installed other than at the factory, they stick out a little further than cars that come w/those tips? Mine is not the only car on which I've noticed this.

how embarrasing is that? I adored my 40th anniv so much that I turned my 993's into 996's.

I've noticed that as well... Seeing pics of people adding the tips, it sticks out noticably further than if the tips came from factory...

Rlandis/DrPeter,

Have you both been able to adjust the X54 tips so that they sit flush with the bumper?

I want a set and have found a decent price, but wanted to make sure these were really adjustable and were pleasing to your sight after making the necessary adjustments.

Thanks,
Jeff

Mine were x54 tips from porsche and I just crouched under the car today to look at the adjustment screws. Mine stick out about 1 1/2 inches and the adjustment screw looks like it will shorten this by 3/4 inch. I don't know for sure, but it looks like it will not be able to be mounted flush, but certainly better than it is.
