Looking at a 2002 C4S

Found an 02 C4S at herb chambers ford in Braintree MA. 1 owner, garaged and always serviced. Clean CarFax. Can anyone recommend a place for a PPI ? Are the dealers willing to bring the car to an outside shop to have the PPI done?
Thanks

I'm with Heima. As an owner of an 04 C4S, definitely the way to go. Price seems right.

There's nothing wrong with a 996 C4S. Some people prefer the updated look and redesigned interior of the 997.

Go for it

I am in the process on buying an 03 C4S that has 30K on it one owner all service for $36,500. Talk to the dealer service manager, when they do a PPI they "work" for you and should go through it as if they were CPOing it. Just had mine done yesterday and all it needed was a new cable for the gas door. Since it was in there I'm having them put the LM engineering HD IMS Bearing and a new RMS along with an oil change and new K&N air filter.

I am worried about IMS. It has not been changed. Should I see if the Porsche dealer will do it or have an Indy shop do it when I get it home. I have a good local shop

Because you are buying it from them maybe you can work out a deal for a lower rate on the IMS. If not an Indy would probably be much cheaper if you can find a good one.

Mine is being done at the dealer where I'm buying it from. $2400 installed along with the new RMS. No matter where you get it done you should do it for the peace of mind. Takes 2 days. Oh and along with the oil change I'm having them put in a magnetic drain plug.

Do I trust the selling Porsche dealer to do the PPI? Or arrange for an Indy shop?

No

Go to an Indy. No way trust a dealer. They will sell you a soap box on wheels and say its the best porsche that they have seen. Get a ppi from the well respected indy in your area.

i'd do the c4s. Personally I would not spend the extra on a 997 unless .2 without IMS and with DFI etc. Power wise a 2005 is about the same performance. Plus the widebody looks so much better.
