Need Help with "Gundo Hack" Bypass
Need Help with "Gundo Hack" Bypass
Took off one of my mufflers and took it to a muffler shop to have the gundo hack welded between the in/out pipes. But after inspecting my muffler, its not the same as the pictures I've seen online. It seems almost impossible to perform this modification. The Muffler mechanic couldnt find a good spot to make the connection.
I have a flex section and on the out pipe I have a bracket. no room for a 2'' pipe. For reference the current piping on the muffler is 2" for scale. Thoughts, help?

It looks like a standard 996 muffler. The two options I've seen are one that connects the inlet and outlet plumbing, like the Fister mufflers. This approach partially bypasses the entire muffler. I've also seen a pipe welded between the "cap" in the muffler case and the outlet plumbing, effectively bypassing one chamber of the muffler. Here's how it looks on my Fisters:

When I had mine done, I only looked for someone with experience doing this. Ask around for someone in your area who has done these. My guy did all the work why are you taking things apart?
Here is mine. Mine are MKII mufflers with the Sport Knockout connected to the outlet and
the inlet/outlet connected with a straight pipe. Sounds amazing
All work done with 304 Stainless.
