Are these wheels worth anything?

Hey guys,

My 03 C4S came with these Asanti 19" wheels that I am not a fan of. They are staggered and are in spotless condition, but just not my taste.

Any ideas what I can get for them?

They look like the Asanti AF129. A new set is ~$3,500. They aren't really my style either, but somebody on this site or another Porsche enthusiast site might like them. If they fit your widebody car correctly, then they'll fit a turbo also.

I'd try selling them for $750 - $1,000 for the set and see what happens. It really just takes the right buyer.

For comparison, I have purchased OEM Porsche wheels before that were in excellent condition for $500 for a set. Your Asantis are a little more exotic, so who knows...

Looks like a very blingy version of my HRE 597r wheels...

If you don't like them because they are chrome, try plasti-dipping them matte black. I bet they would change the look 100% and if you don't like them matte black you can peel it off and try selling them.

+1 for plastidip. It's cheap, easy to peel off if you don't like, but the flat will change the dynamic of the look. Plastidip also sells a glossifier if you want some shine on the black. For $30 give it a shot.

I have used plastidip for other applications before, but just doesn't seem right on a Porsche. I would love to trade these for some stock rims + cash.

Forgot to mention these have 4 brand spanking new Pirelli Rossos on them, which is why I am hesitating. But if I get stockers with newish tires, I'd be less concerned.

You could take the tires off and sell them separately. I think it will yield a more profitable solution for you. The Asanti are heavy and a lot of bling for most Porsche owners but I think you can still get decent money out of them. Like one poster said above, you need to get lucky and find the right buyer. Great looking car sans bling!!!

I used Plasti Dip on my wheels, they came out fantastic. My wheels were gloss black in the center and had a brushed aluminum lip, The lip was very prone to rock chips and had many imperfections because of all the rocks and sand on the roadways in Arizona.
I used Plasti Dip and have to say they look amazing and after 2 months of daily use the rubberized finish is very tough and oblivious to the rocks and sand on the roads.
