So just crossed the 100 k mikes (160000 km) mark. Literally flew through the mark!
Engine seems to be in great shape.
But have small issues like leaking AC system requiring freon refill every 2-3 months. Window lifters and Centeral lock unit needs to be replaced. Some cosmetic issues (sun wiser broken on one side, one of handles that go through the trip/temp/ avg speed is loose. And outside temp sensor is not reading well.
Porsche dealer (only place that I would be able to get these done with satisfaction in the area) is quoting somewhere around 7-9 000$.
Should I get these done or
Shift to 997.1 c2S, Rivera blue . Manual, that is on the market for somewhat 22000$ With 35000 miles on it? Still need to do PPi....
What do you guys think?

Time to Change?
Let's just say you have to put $8000 into fixing your car and when done its worth around $14000. You have $6000 to put toward a newer Porsche. I think if it was me and the 997.1 checks out on PPI I would buy it for $22,000 or may be offer a bit less. Then you can sell your as is car for at least $10,000 and have an extra $4,000 to put toward your newer Porsche. Early 997 has the same IMS problems as the 996 so you may want to replace the IMS bearing as a preventive measure. Early 997 bearing replacement can be done without splitting the case.
I opted for the 996 TT to avoid the IMS bearing issues. Good luck in your potential purchase.

if PPI checks out, I say go for it. I was in the same situation not long ago, but my 996 only have 65k miles. I just want something new so ended up buying a 997.1 C2S & luv every min of it.

$7k-9k for those minor issues is a LOT!
I would either find a good indy that could give you more reasonable quotes if you wanna hassle with the repairs, or if you feel it's time to move on, the 997 C2S sounds good as you're also getting a power upgrade in addition to interior/exterior. But definitely, if you're stuck at paying out $9k for existing repairs, I would rather upgrade.
Just remember that $22k buy in price could be deceptive as things/issues still may arise regardless of the mileage.

Thank you all for input.
My hunch was to upgrade as well.
Just wanted to get your support!
The ulternative (997.1 ) is planned to get PPI in 10-12 days.
Will keep you guys updated.

I have relocated to Saudi few years back.
This is tricky market for used 911s. You would find recent models (not older than 4-5 years for more than what you would expect in the states or canada.
Older cars (7-10 years) cheaper than what u expect in other places. However, it is a risky market as well. Most of these are bought by "Rich" kids who have been golden spoon fed by their filthy rich parents. So the kids would use these things like anything, but a collectable fun sport car!
Rarely you will find a full history. Or no body damage and so forth.
Above all, manual tranny is not sold here -unless someone specially order it- that would take him 6 months to wait.
I love stick over auto. Hence my interest in this one 997.1 C2S.
But best he was offered -to my knowledge- on a eBay equivelant site, 15K or so.
He is relocating overseas and would have to sell.
(Keep in mind I'm talking about KSA)

Most of those issues are cosmetic or inconveniences. Car still drives and you can enjoy.
Find an indy to fix for an 1/8 of dealer price and enjoy. Cars now have so much technology monitoring engine etc 100,000 miles is nothing. The cars is just really starting it's life's journey lol
The 997.1 is a great car but under $40,000 usd I would question the condition.
