What exhaust for 2000 996?

My dad has a 2000 996 cab. As most of you probably know, prior the 2002 facelift, the 911's exhaust notes were a little "weak" compared to the throatier/deeper sounding systems of later models.
If we were to go with another exhaust system, what are some good options?

Since the car is his DD (unless there is snow or a ton of rain), there can't be any uncomfort/drone, and it shouldn't be TOO loud (not loud enough to annoy occupants).

Essentially, what exhaust is sportier. and a little louder?

Thanks a lot everybody

-Joe

Throw on a pair of mufflers from a 3.6S engine. Greatly improves the sound and you can probably get them for shipping cost only if you find someone who replaced theirs with an after market. I have both a pair of 03 996 and 03 996S mufflers but I am hanging on to them for future mods.

I have a GHL on my 01 and love it. Real nice sound with no drone.

You can't go wrong with PSE or Fabs but the Fabs weigh less with a little extra power compared to the PSE. The sound of the PSE is unbeatable, IMHO.
