Short shifters.

I'm thinking about installing a short shift kit. Is it worth it and who makes the best model?

It is definitely worthwhile. B&M makes 2 different models. One resembles the factory short shift kit while the other resembles the ruf model..

Yes, its worth it. The OEM Porsche is the best, although the B&M is identicle and about 1/3 the price.

B&M here on the Turbo and had it on the C4 Cab and its night and day from stock, IMO the B&M is the best value and has a great feel.

What's the best reduction in shift range? 20%, 20% 40%? Is it really that easy to change out yourself? I sure wouldn't want to break anything.

I agree with everyone else. It is absolutely a must. I installed the B&M in car shifter - takes about 1.5 hours. Total night and day difference from stock. I think the car is more fun to drive and I've found that first to second shift is now smoother. It just amazes me that Porsche would not make this standard!

Just ordered it from Forgein Affairs Motorsports for $214 plus shipping (and tax because of Florida residency).

Will be here in a few days and my mechanic will get it in. Thanks for all the input!
