When does it Stop!!!!

Just put on my new wheels...
and thinking about my next mod... Thinking about starting to do the interior next( I've been toying with that for the past year or so).

Anyone have a clue what it would cost to cover the doors and dash in alcantara?

Cory...

Love the wheels!! But, you need to drop that fine ride before you do anything else!! (I do too, but I'm still trying to find out how to install my H&R lowering springs).

RE: Alcantara - I'm doing the same mod. Contact Gulf Fabrics in Tampa, Fl. They will send you some samples of whatever color you are trying to match. My car came with the alcantara headliner. So, I'm pretty much stuck with that color, but Gulf has tons of colors. They get $90.00 a yard for the stuff! Then go to a good interior shop and have them custom cover your parts. I'm doing the entire upper dash (the glare is killing me), shift boot, steering wheel, doors, and those little patches on the center console (with yellow stitching to match my yellow gauge faces). 3 yards total. I still don't have a price yet from my shop.

i am doing the interior also. I just redid my center console lid, side pieces over the weekend. I have a guy doing my headliner, door panels, and dash, but we have not finalized on a price yet. I am doing my dash in leather and suede since my car is a 99.. I do not want all suede so i will doing only the gauge cluster in suede.

can't wait to see these interiors when finished. I've been thinking about covering my panels also, but want to see the possible finished products first.

The interior is one thing that I haven't started to mod. I want to finish the exterior first. I'll post pics of my new bumper when it's installed later this week.
I can't wait to see everybodies interior to get some ideas.
corey: lowering the car changes the look entirely. I was pretty amazed myself

A guy on Renntech.org posted a recover using black alcantara DIY. Looked great. I've asked him for some additional information in that post so it should be close to the top of the 996 section if you want to look at some more pics.

John,
when you have a price let me know since I don't really have an interior shop here so I need an idea for when I start looking...

As for dropping my car more, I'm already dropped a bit from stock with the ROW 030, if I lowered it much more I would not be able to make it up my driveway. If it wasn't my daily driver, I guess I could put a block of wood to drive over, but everyday that would be a pain.

Didn't mean to diss your ride height, Corey!! It just seems like a knee-jerk reaction to anyone's ride height. I should talk!! Your car looks killer.

I'll let you know as soon as I get some interior prices so you have a base line when you look for a shop. Get in touch with Gulf Fabrics in the mean time and get your color choices down.

Corey,
Dump the 996 and back it into your driveway... mine is not much different than yours and my car is WAY lower with a different bumper that hangs lower. I can only back in is the problem, but otherwise it's fine at an angle LOL

I've actually tried backing in and my front lip scrapes. It's the way the apron is on my driveway....
