As an alternative to using the standard Porsche switches, there is an eBay seller that sells smart switches that has an LED that flashes when the spoiler is raising or lowering and is is on while the spoiler is up: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Spoiler-con...8AAOSwaGBbfd03

It says, ) tail switch tags. Pull off the connector from the back of the PSM switch. Insert the blue wire onto the left most PSM switch tag (blue/pink/brown connection wire). Insert the brown wire onto the top PSM switch tag (red/blue connection wire). Ensure the inserted wires are not shorting any other tags. Push the PSM connector back into place with the inserted wires.
I don't have a psm switch. I bought a switch for the spoiler from Porsche. I putting this in a 2003 986

Ah, sorry. Yes you are correct. I believe those wires are just to get the backlight working on the switch (it will function fine without it). You can try getting the power for the lighting from the other side switches. You'll have to run corresponding wires across to the other side.
